Voice Controlled Wheel Chair

Voice Controlled Wheel Chair Project | Crisp Systems

This project presents the design of an embedded system-based smart, powered, voice-controlled wheelchair. The proposed design incorporates a voice activation technology for people with physical disabilities a manual process. This paper describes a “Voice-controlled Wheel Chair” for people with physical disabilities, in which the wheelchair is moved in response to voice commands.

The voice command is delivered through a Bluetooth-enabled mobile device, and the Bluetooth Voice Operate for Arduino transfers it and converts it to a string before sending it to the Bluetooth Module HC-05 linked to the Arduino board to control the wheelchair. For instance, when the user says “Go,” the chair moves in the direction of forward motion, and when he says “Back,” the chair moves in the direction of backward motion.
